We have developed a brief survey to better understand barriers producers in North Carolina and South Carolina face in becoming certified organic as part of the Southeast Transition to Organic Partnerships Program. This brief anonymous survey is to gather input from both certified organic producers and producers interested in transitioning to organic production about challenges they’ve experienced in trying to acquire or maintain organic certification, their most significant production challenges, as well as the efficacy of USDA assistance programs. 

This survey is open to both organic commodity crop producers and specialty crop producers in North and South Carolina. This information will be presented to USDA to improve the accessibility of the National Organic Program and support producers in organic certification.
